Since its inception, MECAP has been at the forefront of research and policy advocacy on various affairs of the elderly people including quality of life, community health, family health, poverty, social protection, community engagement, land, inclusive growth, governance, education and sustainable urbanization. Its core themes reflect current and emerging priorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Centre maintains a strong interest in regional and international discourses on health and development. Activities of the Centre encompass policy research, project evaluations, quality statistics, discourse promotion, policy advocacy, grassroot and policy networking. MECAP implements its activities through a core staff inclusive of an in-house field research capacity and a network of resource persons under the leadership of its Founder and Director, Basit Ali Haidari. MECAP Mission: Advancing the causes of wellbeing of the elderly people living in the Middle Eastern Region including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, empowerment of elderly women and men, building of responsible citizenry, elimination of discrimination, promotion of sustainable prosperity, solution-centric mind-sets and quality presence in global discourses through Research, Cutting-edge, experiential Education, Training, and Advocacy.
